Import Restrictions and Customs Fees

Some countries place restrictions on goods imported or charge customs duties or import fees. It is the responsibility of the customer to find out about any restrictions applicable to them and pay any charges. We send all parcels through Australia Post and suggest checking your country in the first instance on their website here. We also recommend contacting your local government body e.g. Customs and Excise.

Jewellery Care

Most of our pieces incorporate Swarovski crystals, pearls and semi – precious stones. It is therefore essential to care for these pieces to ensure jewellery will hold their beauty and luster for years to come.
Here are some tips you might find handy:

  • Keep all jewellery with semi-precious stones and crystals in jewelry boxes or in soft pouches.
Personal tip: Whilst traveling, I usually wrap my jewellery in tissue paper and separate them in plastic containers that have multiple layers which you can screw on. This ensures that the pieces don’t suffer from too much movement during its journey.
  • If it is not sufficient to clean pieces with a soft dry cloth, the next best technique is to rinse each piece in a mixture of soap and warm water and scrub with a soft light brush if necessary. Follow by rinsing with warm water and leave to dry on a towel. (Stay away from cleaning jewellery with harsh chemicals as this can sometimes cause damage or discolouration and do not leave pieces soaking in water).
  • Apply all cosmetics such as make-up, creams and perfume before putting on jewellery. Some chemicals found in beauty products can lead to discolouration.
  • Special care should be taken with pearls. They are much more fragile. Clean pearls by using a clean, dry, soft cloth.
  • Avoid getting the jewelry wet as this can sometimes lead to tarnishing of metals. Ensure that pieces are dry prior to storage.
  • If the silver parts have tarnished, use a silver polishing cloth to wipe them. Avoid using chemicals that might affect nearby stones or pearls.
Personal tip: A tiny drop of toothpaste on an old soft toothbrush works wonders. Gently scrub the silver with the toothpaste. This magically restores the piece to its original shine. Try to avoid non-silver areas of the jewellery and make sure not to use too much toothpaste since it contains abrasive. Follow by rinsing with warm water and wipe completely dry prior to storage.
  • Try to avoid leaving jewellery out as oxidation can cause tarnish to metal.
Personal tip: To avoid tarnish, it is best to keep pieces in a zip-lock bag. If pieces are fragile, wrap them with a piece of tissue paper before storing it in the zip-lock bag.
